Last month, a passerby noticed smoke coming from the roof of a structure. A box alarm was dispatched bringing all Washington Twp fire companies, Long Valley EMS, and Chester Fire for their ladder to the scene. First arriving officers updated responding units of smoke showing from the eaves and a possible working attic fire. Long Valley Engine 1-1 and Cascade 1-3 were the first arriving apparatus on scene. Crews stretched a crosslay and found a small pocket of fire, smoldering and charring in the Attic. Crews extinguished the fire and began overhaul. Other units from schooleys Mtn and Fairmount Fire also assisted on scene. All units left after about 2 hours.
