This past weekend, Long Valley and Schooleys Mtn fire companies participated and showed our support for Roxbury Fire department's 100 year anniversary. Engine 1-1, our 1860 Antique Chemical Wagon, and several firefighters participated in the parade and Schooleys brought their Command Vehicle and Quint 3-9. Long Valley took home three 1st Place Trophies for Best Appearing Antique, Best Appearing Hand or Horse Drawn Antique, and Best Appearing Company in Regulation Uniform (Marching) under 20 Men! Schooleys Mtn took home a 2nd place trophy for their Best Appearing Ladder! It was a fun day!
While at the parade, both companies were dispatched to assist in search of a missing person at Schooleys Mtn Park. The missing person was found 2 hours after the initial dispatch and was uninjured.
