On April 10th, fire companies from Washington Township were dispatched to a vehicle fire at the intersection of West Springtown Road and Schooleys Mountain Road. Long Valley Engine 1-1 arrived first and began knocking down the bulk of the fire as Schooleys Mountain and Fairmount assisted with water supply and knocking down the remainder of the fire. Washington Township Police Lieutenant Douglas Compton rescued 2 individuals inside of the van before the fire department arrived.
